NNR public education and information sharing exhibitions targets shopping malls in Tshwane and West Rand areas.
The NNR takes to heart the need for public education and information sharing on matters related to radiation/nuclear safety because there more society is informed of radiation risks, the easier it is to take precautionary measures in an undesirable event of radiological emergency.
The NNR embarked on public information sharing exhibition on the 22 and 29 November 2019 at Nkomo Village Mall (Atteridgeville) and West Gate Shopping Mall (Roodepoort). During these interactions with the public, the NNR staff explain radiation, its sources, the benefits and the risks associated with the use of radioactive material. Most importantly they demonstrate the detection, measurement, as well as the safety measures to be taken for protection against radiation.
The public welcomes and appreciate the efforts by the NNR to educate and share such valuable information.
Thanks to the NNR Team
